The Role:

As an AI Lead at Sunrise Robotics, you will define, shape, and deliver the future of AI-powered robotic systems. You will lead and build a multidisciplinary team working at the intersection of foundational models, reinforcement learning, deep learning, robotics, simulation, and real-world deployment as a hands-on technical leader. This is a role for someone who thrives on building systems end-to-end: from data generation through to AI deployment and monitoring in production while defining and executing operational excellence as a team lead.

This is an on-site or remote role, which will require to travel to our HQ for team collaboration, on-hardware development, and occasional customer deployments.

Your Responsibilities

• Build, lead and mentor our AI team.

• Set and evolve the technical direction of our perception and AI based motion control.

• Lead technical execution of our AI roadmap, ranging from deep learning to VLA and diffusion models.

• Architect our AI infrastructure according to our engineering and deployment roadmap.

• Coordinate and collaborate cross-team to bring synthetic data and AI guided robot motion to the forefront.

• Oversee, plan and lead the development of our end-to-end CV / ML applications and deploy them to production which will be running 24/7.

• Apply SOTA methods to create the next generation of robotics with an international multidisciplinary team.
  

Who You Are:

• Leader of multi-disciplinary teams in the field of AI (ML, CV) for 5+ years.

• Experience with hiring, mentoring and building efficient and results oriented teams.

• Highly skilled and experienced computer vision or machine learning engineer in 2D/3D Computer Vision and Deep Learning of over 8 years.

• A professional software engineer who has architected and implemented solutions for production grade systems for 5+ years.

• You have extensive professional experience with Python, PyTorch and various computer vision frameworks.

• You have in-depth knowledge of model training, optimization, conversion and deployment, model monitoring and are familiar with edge device compute (such as federated learning).

• You have extensive experience with MLOps and AI DevOps on platforms such as MLFlow, W&B, CometML, ClearML, etc.

• You have experience with imaging hardware, such as industrial cameras, 3D cameras and stereo systems.

• You have a product oriented mentality.

• You have the capacity to work with multidisciplinary and international teams and are an excellent communicator who can articulate complex architecture and solution design concepts in a clear, compelling manner.

• You are passionate about robotics, automation, and the transformative potential of intelligent systems.
  

Good to Have:

• Experience with synthetic data generation, domain transfer and an ability to design smart and optimized data collection strategies.

• Experience with industrial and collaborative robotics.

• Experience with ROS2, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS / GCE.

• Experience with NVIDIA edge devices and robotics stack.

• Experience with RL deployment and monitoring in production.
