The Knowledge Innovation Centre (KIC) is a dynamic consultancy focusing on knowledge brokerage and innovation of knowledge transfer processes. The Centre brings together a variety of local and European experts from a variety of fields, and has worked extensively within Higher Education, Policy Analysis and Knowledge Economy, supported by Educational Technologies. The Centre has forged close relationships with a number of stakeholders in the fields of Regional Innovation and Higher Education and is active in leveraging such relationships to build multi-disciplinary, multi-country networks for knowledge transfer and capitalization. The Centre develops innovative solutions to accelerate and optimize technology use and growth in Education.

The Opportunity

The Product Marketing Specialist will be responsible for
product marketing
of tools and services developed by KIC within multi-partner international Research & Development projects,
digital learning solutions and educational technology products
. The role requires collaboration with product development teams, educational stakeholders, and international partners to create compelling market positioning and drive adoption of KIC's innovative educational technology solutions. The position will involve travel within Europe for approximately 6 days per month. The Centre is looking to hire an experienced marketing professional to execute product marketing initiatives and join the experienced team.

Tasks

  • Execute product marketing initiatives for KIC's educational technology tools and services, working closely with R&D teams and international project consortiums to translate technical innovations into market-ready value propositions.
  • Actively engage in direct sales activities, including prospecting, lead qualification, client presentations, proposal development, and contract negotiations for KIC's educational technology solutions.
  • Manage the complete sales cycle from initial contact through contract closure, ensuring high-quality customer experience and successful project implementation.
  • Conduct comprehensive market research and competitive analysis in the educational technology sector, identifying market opportunities, target segments, and positioning for KIC's solutions across global markets.
  • Develop and implement go-to-market plans for new educational technology products and services developed by KIC.
  • Create compelling marketing materials, product documentation, case studies, and thought leadership content that effectively communicate the value of KIC's educational technology solutions to diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Set up and maintain comprehensive contact databases and CRM systems, ensuring systematic tracking of prospects, partners, and stakeholders across multiple markets.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, educational institutions, policy makers, and industry influencers to enhance brand visibility and market credibility for KIC's solutions.
  • Manage marketing budgets and measure ROI of marketing campaigns, while also tracking sales performance and revenue generation metrics.

All candidates should have an EU work-permit, or a work-permit for an EU candidate country and be available to work remotely from anywhere in Europe. The position will also involve travel within Europe for up to 6 days per month. The candidate will work remotely, with occasional visits to the company's offices in Ljubljana, Malta or Brussels as needed.

Knowledge and skills

The suitable candidate will show the following knowledge, skills and attitudes:

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Marketing, Business Administration, Communications, or similar related fields, with demonstrated experience in B2B technology marketing, preferably in educational technology or related sectors, with strong preference for candidates with specific experience in Educational Technology (EdTech) sales and marketing.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of product marketing experience, with proven track record of successful product launches and market development in technology-driven environments. Experience in EdTech sales and marketing is highly preferred.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities, with experience in market research, competitive analysis, and data-driven decision making.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with ability to create compelling marketing content and present to diverse audiences including educators, administrators, and policy makers.

Additionally, the candidate should display:

  • Full fluency in English and working proficiency in at least two other European languages;
  • Prior knowledge of EU funding programmes and the European educational landscape will be considered a significant asset;
  • Experience with digital marketing tools, CRM systems, and marketing automation platforms;
  • Strong project management skills, with ability to coordinate complex marketing campaigns across multiple markets and stakeholder groups;
  • Ability to work effectively in multi-country remote teams and manage relationships with international partners;
  • Understanding of educational technology trends, learning management systems, and digital transformation in education will be considered an asset;
  • Experience in proposal writing and tender responses will be considered an asset.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive monthly salary ranging from €3,000 to €4,500, determined by your level of experience, EdTech expertise, and demonstrated track record in product marketing and sales. Additional benefits include travel expense coverage for required European business trips and flexible remote working arrangements.
