Senior Software Engineer

ABOUT US: 

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with an experience of building modern scalable and redundant services in modern programming languages (preferably Java, or other OO languages). The developer will join the established MTS Insight Tech team - helping in the development of new features and participate in the agile transformation of the team.

THE CHALLENGE:

• Deliver high-quality work by enforcing technical excellence, managing tech debt, and continuously improving processes and timelines.
• Take ownership of your services throughout the delivery pipeline—from design and development to deployment and monitoring in production.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, and other engineers to create the best product for your customers.
• Work closely with the lead architect to ensure software meets requirements for quality, performance, security, modifiability, and extensibility.
• Contribute to improving the technical performance, scalability, stability, and resilience of the core product.
• Mentor engineers to grow their skills.
• Help the team understand the bigger picture and how their work impacts customers and the product.
• Learn about new technologies and trends, sharing insights on how they can enhance current and future products.
• Foster knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team and across the organization.

ABOUT YOU:

- Must-Have Skills:

• Java development experience (or other OO languages).
• Excellent understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
• Strong expertise in Java concurrency, multithreading, functional programming, and reactive programming.
• Proven experience with software engineering best practices (TDD, ATDD, Contract Testing, CI/CD).
• Experience working in an agile development environment.

- Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Knowledge of AWS services, such as EKS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, Aurora, Elasticache, and Elasticsearch.
• Experience building large-scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
• Familiarity with automated deployments and containerized application management.
• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

• Initial Screening: A quick (video) chat with our Talent Acquisition Partner to understand your background and expectations.
• Introduction Interview (with the hiring team): Meet with the Technical team (in-person) and Hiring Manager to dive into details about the team and your expertise.
• Technical Assessment: A short home task to showcase your technical skills.
• Final Interview: Meet with additional Team members and discuss about your technical solution as also team fit.
• Final Steps: Receive feedback and, if successful, an offer
