We are looking for a Legal Specialist
to join our team

At Better, we are building software solutions that help medical teams improve patient care. Our advanced digital health platform and solutions already support over 30 million patients' electronic health records across more than 20 markets worldwide, making data quality our number one priority.

As a legal specialist, you will take ownership of compliance and legal responsibilities. In this role, you'll ensure our company meets privacy and market standards, support ISO certification processes, and provide legal guidance across departments - all while collaborating with internal teams and external experts to keep our operations secure, compliant, and future-ready.

In a nutshell you are:

• A compliance guardian, ensuring the company meets privacy, data protection, ISO, and market-specific standards through proactive collaboration and process improvement.
• A legal advisor, reviewing business agreements, mitigating risks, and supporting internal teams with sound legal guidance.
• A connector, working closely with external experts to align internal practices with regulatory and legal expectations.

Your core responsibilities will be:

COMPLIANCE AREA:

Privacy and data protection:

• Cooperation and advisory to internal teams,
• Maintaining records of data processing and other related documents,
• Collaborating with external advisors

ISO Certification

• Participation in the internal ISO task team and external audits
• Improving internal processes to ensure higher compliance
• Collaboration with external advisors

Other compliance demands

• Ensuring compliance with relevant demands of the market
• Coordinating assessments and questionaries as required by the market (e.g. companies' partners and clients)

LEGAL AREA:

Business agreements

• Providing legal review of the agreements with (potential) clients, partners and suppliers
• Highlighting and mitigating related risks
• Providing advisory to internal teams and departments regarding the agreements and collaborations

Internal advisory

• Providing general legal advisory to internal teams and departments

External collaboration

• Collaborating with external (legal) experts

Skills and experience we are looking for:

• Knowledge of Data Protection and Privacy Laws
• Contract Drafting and Negotiation Skills
• Adaptability and Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Bonus: Interest and affinity for new technologies and their connection to the legal field.
