We're growing fast and invite you to join our amazing team.
We are strengthening our R&D team in Šenčur, Slovenia, and we are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help us deliver impactful solutions for our customers. You'll join the Descartes Finale team of 14 engineers distributed across North America, South America, and Western Europe. We ship code to production several times per day using continuous deployment and a strong test-driven development approach. Our technology stack is predominantly JavaScript , React) and MySQL, with C++ used in select places for performance. Our solution is deployed to AWS. You'll have the autonomy to make meaningful technical decisions, work directly with customers and colleagues, and see your work make a real impact. Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and ship features that improve our SaaS platform for ecommerce sellers
• Debug and resolve technical issues across the stack
• Write and maintain an extensive suite of automated tests
• Collaborate with engineers across time zones to deliver high-quality solutions
• Participate in code reviews and help maintain a strong culture of testing and continuous improvement
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical direction
• Communicate clearly and transparently with colleagues and customers
• Lead a team of developers

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong understanding of software fundamentals
• Experience shipping code to production in a SaaS environment
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (our stack is JavaScript/MySQL, but we value fundamentals over specific tools)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, distributed team
• Comfortable learning new technologies as needed
• Led a team of engineers to successfully ship a project to customers

Location
You will be based at our Descartes office in Šenčur, Slovenia. We work in a hybrid mode, 3 days from home and 2 days in the office.
