Role Overview

The Investment Banking Analyst supports financial advisory and capital markets activities by performing detailed analyses, preparing transaction materials, and conducting market research. This role plays a critical part in assisting senior bankers with mergers and acquisitions, fundraising mandates, valuations, and strategic financial projects. Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate performance, forecast scenarios, and assess transaction outcomes.
  • Conduct company valuations using methods such as DCF, comparable analysis, and precedent transactions.
  • Prepare pitchbooks, presentations, investment memoranda, and due diligence materials for clients and internal teams.
  • Analyze industry trends, market conditions, competitor performance, and financial statements to support advisory work.
  • Assist with the execution of M&A processes, including data room management, document review, and coordination with stakeholders.
  • Support equity and debt financing transactions by preparing market analyses, investor materials, and transaction documentation.
  • Compile research on companies, industries, and market developments to support strategic recommendations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to ensure accuracy and coherence in transaction deliverables.
  • Help manage workflow by tracking deadlines, preparing progress updates, and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
  • Maintain organized, error-free documentation and contribute to the continuous improvement of analytical tools and processes.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Accounting, or related fields.
  • Strong proficiency in financial modeling, spreadsheet analysis, and valuation techniques.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, capital markets, and corporate finance concepts.
  • Experience with financial analysis gained through internships, academic projects, or entry-level roles.
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure while managing multiple deadlines.
  • High attention to detail, especially when handling numerical data and preparing client-facing materials.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate insights clearly.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and analytical thinking.
  • Proficiency with productivity tools and financial databases is a plus.
