We are partnering with a fast-growing voice-AI company that is pushing the boundaries of speech recognition, multilingual understanding, and real-time language processing. The team has built a new generation of speech-to-text and voice models from the ground up – foundation-scale architectures capable of extremely low latency, high accuracy across accents and noisy environments, and seamless support for dozens of languages in a single unified system.

This is not "apply an API and wrap it in a product." It's deep engineering: large-scale training pipelines, high-performance inference, model architecture innovation, distributed systems, and the kind of optimization work only a handful of teams in the world are doing well. The company has already achieved breakthroughs that outperform major incumbents in real-world speech scenarios, unlocking use cases that historically weren't reliable enough to ship.

With a small, elite engineering team, every hire directly shapes the system's capabilities and the future of voice interfaces globally. This is an opportunity to work on technically hard problems such as end-to-end model development, GPU-dense infrastructure, real-time streaming, language modeling, and ultra-efficient deployment at scale.

The role is on-site in Ljubljana, Slovenia. Relocation support will be provided Different collaboration options are available, from employment to contract, in a full-time capacity.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and build core systems that power a real-time speech AI platform, with a focus on scalability, performance, and security.
  • Collaborate with engineers, researchers, and product teams to bring new speech capabilities to market – and push the boundaries of what's possible in real-time voice AI.
  • Develop internal tools and infrastructure that boost engineering velocity and system robustness.
  • Own the full lifecycle of your work – from design to deployment to on-call operations – with a strong sense of responsibility and autonomy.

You might thrive here if you:

  • Have deep knowledge of at least one of our core languages: C++, Python, Go.
  • You are an enthusiast for programming, you deeply enjoy it and it's something you do for fun.
  • You make decisions based on data and love direct feedback, no bureaucracy, and no bullshit approach.
  • Have built and scaled production systems, ideally involving real-time data, distributed infrastructure, or machine learning pipelines.
  • You understand ML Model Integration, basics of Networking, microservices and API design.
  • Are obsessed with code quality and care about user experience – you take pride in building things that just work.
  • Are hands-on, humble, and willing to dig into unfamiliar parts of the stack to solve real problems.
  • Automate your way out of repetition, and know when to reach for existing tools vs building your own.
  • Enjoy working in a startup environment where speed, ownership, and impact matter.
  • Have been a founder or early engineer at a high-growth company (a plus, not a requirement).
