at its EIB Local office in Nicosia, Cyprus:
TRAINEE
Duration: 5 months
(fixed start date: 1st March 2026)

Objective of the traineeship

To support the communication and visibility efforts of the EIB's Nicosia Office during Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the European Union, with a focus on event coordination, social media, and stakeholder engagement. in the occasion of the CY Presidency, we want to show to the external world how EIB-backed projects, financing tools and advisory services improve lives and advance EU policy goals, including sustainable development, European security, social and territorial cohesion, and the just, swift transition to net zero.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare presentations and visual materials for external meetings and events.
  • Support the organisation and promotion of events co-hosted with EU institutions.
  • Contribute to the development of communication strategies tailored to local audiences.
  • Assist in drafting and scheduling social media posts aligned with EIB messaging.
  • Help monitor media coverage and stakeholder feedback.

Academic Qualifications And Professional Skills

  • Final year of studies or University degree in Media, Communications, Political Sciences, International Relations, Journalism, or related field.
  • Previous experience as a journalist or communications officer is an asset.
  • Prior traineeship or work experience in European institutions (especially Brussels) is an asset.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital communication tools.
  • Excellent knowledge of standard Microsoft Office tools (in particular PowerPoint and Word) and AI.
  • Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English; knowledge of Greek is a strong advantage.
