About Billing Analyst
What will you do?
- Analyze product usage and billing data to identify trends, issues, and opportunities for improvement
- Spot discrepancies and work cross-functionally to investigate and resolve billing concerns
- Recommend and implement practical process improvements to streamline invoicing
- Collaborate with customer support, product, finance, and engineering to ensure data accuracy and clear reporting
- Generate and distribute accurate invoices, statements, and internal billing reports
- Respond to customer billing inquiries with empathy and clarity
- Own account reconciliations and help maintain up-to-date, audit-ready billing records
- Monitor accounts receivable, transactions, and financial data flows across systems
- Help improve internal documentation and create more self-serve billing workflows
- Support other finance and accounting activities as needed
- 3+ years of experience in a Billing Analyst or similar role
- Proficiency in SQL, Microsoft Excel, and other data analysis tools
- Strong analytical skills and a high level of attention to detail
- Ability to extract insights from data and turn them into action
- Experience working with billing or subscription software (e.g. Chargebee, Zuora, Braintree, or similar)
- Excellent communication skills that allow you to explain complex billing issues clearly to others
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-growth environments
- Experience in SaaS, IaaS, or other usage-based business models
- Familiarity with BI tools like Power BI or Looker
- Hands-on experience with Netsuite
- Knowledge of cloud services, web hosting, or related industries
- You have a strong sense of ownership and take initiative when you see something that can be improved
- A proactive mindset toward automation and using AI to improve workflows
