Senior software engineering manager

We're looking for a senior software engineering manager to join our growing Center of Excellence for IoT Cloud solutions.
 

You will lead a global and committed team of software professionals developing cutting-edge cloud solutions for the district energy and building sector. We develop and produce sustainable and high-quality solutions for people around the world, having a positive impact on global change. Do you want to play a key role and actively participate in the digital transformation of the company, co-creating solutions for digitalization in buildings and district heating systems?

In this role, you will lead one of our product teams responsible for building innovative features and running our state-of-the-art cloud platform. The Engineering Manager plays a key role in the development of people, the organization, and the product. You will need to fully understand the digitalization vision of the products in the teams and actively contribute to the development of our software to ensure your contribution to our success. The team is located in Slovenia, Finland, and external partners in Poland, therefore some travel can be expected.

Some of the key activities will include:

• Leading and managing a team of 8-10 developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
• Help the team grow by mentoring and coaching team members.  
• Hire new great developers to the team. 
• Manage the team and align with the internal and external stakeholders.
• Proactively facilitating communication between developers, Product Owners, and stakeholders.
• Ensuring deliverables are up to quality standards.
• Help connect people across organizations and value streams, shortening feedback loops.
• Help the team to continuously improved processes.   
   

You are a motivated and effective communicator with a collaborative and open-minded attitude. You have experience in leading development teams in a modern software development environment.

On top of that, you should be able to checkmark some of the points listed below:

• You love to mentor, develop, and grow people, and have experience of doing so.
• Hands-on experience as a developer in a modern software organization.   
• Experience in management of software teams.
• Knowledge in agile frameworks like Scrum, SAFe, Lean Agile, and DevOps.
• Effective stakeholder management.
• Experience with leading on a distance. 
• Deep understanding of DevOps and modern tooling / ways of working like Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, GitOps.
• Ability to adapt to new ways of developing software and learning new technologies.
• Experience with at least few technologies: Docker, NodeJS, ReactJS, Azure Pipelines.
• Fluent in English.
