Chief Accountant

 

 

Position:

In this role you will be responsible for managing daily accounting and tax activities, ensuring tax compliance, and overseeing statutory and group reporting. Additionally, the role supports budgeting, variance analysis, and advising non-finance employees on financial matters.

 

Within 6 months you will:

• establish yourself as a trusted expert and advisor, overseeing all accounting and financial operations in the Slovenian market.

 

What will you do:

  • Manage daily accounting and tax activities, including SAP setup and journal vouchers.
  • Oversee financial document management and month-end closing.
  • Handle fixed asset management and control invoice bookings.
  • Calculate and submit VAT and CIT returns; ensure overall tax compliance.
  • Prepare annual financial statements and manage statutory reporting.
  • Oversee quarterly group reporting, develop budgets, and train non-finance staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in finance, economics, or business administration. A financial qualification (e.g., ACCA) would be an advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a comparable role.
  • Fluency in Slovenian and English (written & spoken).
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with a supportive and empathetic approach.
  • Self-learner and proactive.
  • PC Skills: Expertise in SAP and MS Office; advanced proficiency in Excel.Must be
